Distribution Program conducted at District Veterinary Centre premises at Namchi

Namchi, 13th April: A Distribution Program was conducted at District Veterinary Centre premises at Namchi, today. Total 15 farmers of various constituencies of Namchi-Singithang, Namthang- Rateypani, Melli, Barfung, Tumin-Lingee & Poklok Kamrang were benefited from today’s program. The Chief Guest for today’s programme was Chairman, Farmers’ Welfare Board Mr. Phurden Lepcha also present among others were Chairman, UDD Chairman Mr. Tashi Tamang, NMC Mr. Ganesh Rai alongwith Dr. Nevidita Pradhan (Deputy Director, Turuk), Dr. Pranita Sherpa (VO, Ravangla), Dr. Chandni Chettri (VO, Tarku), Dr. Kaushal Thapa (VO, Wok) and Dr. Fiona Lepcha (VO, Nandugaon).
Each beneficiary received 1 male and 4 female goats. Ear tagging along with insurance for 1 year was also done for the goats. Various medicines like dewormers, immune modulators, mineral mixtures and multivitamins were also given to each beneficiary.
Addl Director (Namchi) Dr A.L. Rai gave a brief overview about the distribution programme and shared basic information about the scheme. A brief update on Goat farming and management was delivered by Dr. Ekta Pradhan, VO(DVP).
