Namchi,12th October (IPR) : The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) conducted a meeting to take stock of the recent disaster at District Administrative Centre, today. The meeting was chaired by DC(Namchi),Mr M. Bharani Kumar.
Present during the meeting were ADC Namchi Mr. Anant Jain, Sr. SP Dr. Tshering Namgyal Gyatsho, Assistant Collector Mr. Pulkit along with the HoDs of concerned departments.
During the meeting, the DC enquired about the various relief and rescue being carried out in the affected areas. He examined the progress on the clearance of debris pertaining to the affected households. He urged the officials to identify and assess the buildings and houses that have been adversely damaged by the disaster. He also enquired about the distribution of ex-gratia under Chief Minister Relief Fund (CMRF) to the affected families.
Similarly, he enquired the concerned officials about the medical camps and advised to take proper review on the shortages of medicines including the screening of various waterborne diseases at respective camps.
Furthermore, he advised the Joint Director, Education department to collect the data of books, study materials and uniforms which were damaged during the disaster and make provisions to be distributed to both the school and college students as early as possible.
Further, he advised to set up a temporary camp for the affected people who have lost their government documents in the recent calamity, where people can approach with relevant proof of the documents and an application to get it processed.
In regard to the power supply, the concerned department, updated that the transformer is being re-installed at Adarshgoan for the convenience of the people.
Regarding the damaged roads, it was informed that Mamring to Samardung has been cleared as on 11th October and that Adarshgoan to Samardung and Gammon Bridge will soon be restored
During the meeting, various suggestions and queries were put forth by the HoDs where tentative meeting agendas were comprehensively discussed.
