District Library and District Administrative Centre, Namchi hosted a reading event for students

Namchi, 2nd September(IPR): A Reading Session ‘Books and Minds’ was organised by the District Library in collaboration with Namchi, District Administrative Centre at the study hall of the District Library, Namchi today.
The occasion had the presence of DC(Namchi) Mr. M. Bharani Kumar, ADC(Namchi) Mr. Anant Jain, JD (Education) Mr. G.P Sharma, Assistant Collector(Namchi) Mr. Pulkit Balhara along with the staff of the District Library, students, avid readers from in and around Namchi.
The theme of this session was ‘Where Book Wizards Come Together and Share Their Ideology’. The event had the presence of author ‘ The Fragile Thread of Hope’ Mr. Pankaj Giri, The Poet of ‘Janey Haru’ Mr. Simeyon Sukita Rai and Educator of Reading Room Resource Centre, (RRRC) Dhumigoan Ms. Methela Rai.
The program was aimed to encourage and instill healthy reading habits amongst young students while educating them about its substantial benefits. Besides, the students were briefly enlightened about books written by these authors.
In an interactive conversation with author, Mr. Pankaj Giri, shared his valuable experience and his journey as a writer. He further elucidated, on the importance of consistent reading and writing habits and underlined that if one wants to write a book or any other composition then these are the healthy habits that one should maintain. Moreover, the author also discussed about his recently released book ‘The Unforgettable Woman’ and how it explores human bond and its emotions.
The Poet Mr. Simeyon Sukita Rai highlighted about the different genres that a budding writer can opt to publish in their writings. He also further engaged them with recitation from his literary works and informed that he mostly writes in Nepali language and encouraged the attendees to experiment in various kinds of writing.
The Resource Person, Ms. Methela Rai from Reading Room Resource Centre (RRTC) spoke about the purpose and functioning of the RRRC which is established at DhumiGoan, Assangthang. She informed that the RRRC is a community library set up to provide a creative space for children to give free and safe access to books while committing to create a positive learning environment for young and adult learners. Besides, she also gave an overview on the on-going projects in colloboration with different schools and organisation, helping the young adults.
During the event, an interactive session between the speakers and participants were also held wherein they exchanged their thoughts on various topics.
