Final round of training for Counting process underway in Namchi district

Namchi, May 28 (IPR): The first day of the final round training for Counting Supervisors, Counting Assistants and Micro Observers was successfully held at Townhall Namchi, today.
The training session had the presence of Ms Bhumika Chettri Deputy Secretary Election Cell, Mr Tshering Norgyal Theeng SDM Yangyang, Mr Gopal K Chettri SDM(HQ) Namchi, Mr Sunil Kumar Mothay ADC (Dev) along with other officials.
Mr Gopal Kumar Chettri, Nodal Officer (Trainings) while welcoming the trainees, highlighted the importance of the counting process, which will define the entire electoral process. He encouraged the participants to actively engage in this training session.
He further stressed that any negligence from the part of Counting Officials would result in disciplinary action by the commission.
Mr Tshering Norgyal Theengh SLMT, summed up the entire process in detail about the counting process that the counting officials has to undergo in the counting day. He actively engaged with the trainees, clarifying doubts and posing questions to them. Also apprised them about the accommodation which would be provided at SIRD and Chemchey.
Further, he strictly informed that there should be no delays in the counting process and that all counting officials would be held equally responsible and also stressed the importance of the reports submitted by the counting officials, as promptly dissemination of the information is crucial.
In addition, he highlighted filling of form 17 C part II and gave detailed instruction on 13A, 13B and 13C and discussed on the criteria of rejection of the postal ballot.
He briefly outlined roles and responsibilities of micro observer.
Ms Bhumika Chettri SLMT, provided a PowerPoint presentation to give a concise overview of the Namchi Government College counting area layout for 2nd and 4th june.
Later, she concluded the session with a hands-on training session where participants engaged actively.
The day saw a total of 187 counting officials in the morning and afternoon session.
