Final round of Training for Polling and Presiding Officers undergoes at Namchi district

Namchi, April 9 (IPR): The final round of training for Polling and Presiding Officers for the first batch was successfully conducted at Townhall Namchi, today.
The training session organised in two batches, aimed to provide a thorough understanding of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and the documentation protocols on a polling day.
Key topics covered included the roles and duties of polling and presiding officers, familiarisation with statutory forms and a detailed mock drill simulating a polling station scenario.
Trainees also received theoretical insight into EVMs and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trails (VVPATs) complemented by hands-on training.
Furthermore, officials from the IT department demonstrated the utilisation of the Traccar app for real-time location tracking.
The training session was facilitated by Mr Anant Jain SLMT cum ADC Namchi, Ms Bhumika Chettri SLMT cum Deputy Secretary Election Cell, Mr Tshering Norgyal Theeng SLMT cum SDM Yangyang, Mr Gopal K Chettri DLMT cum SDM(HQ) Namchi.
The training session also had the presence of Mr Amar Nath Upadhyay General Observer, Mrs Bhagyashri Navatake, Police Observer for Namchi district and Ms Annapurna Alley DEO cum DC Namchi.
