First round of training for Presiding and Polling Officers I concludes
Namchi, January 20 (IPR) : The first round of training for Presiding and Polling Officers I under Namchi district concluded successfully, today.
The final sessions were conducted at two venues, identical to the location used for past three days, the Conference Hall of DAC and the Auditorium of Namchi Sr. Sec. School.
A total of 95 trainees participated on the final day, led by Mr Sunny Kharel and Mr Dilip Sharma. The training focused on the roles and responsibilities outlined by the Election Commission of India covering the topic of setting up of polling stations, EVMs, VVPAT, and adherence to electoral rules.
The training, that spanned from the 17th to the 20th of January, focused on imparting theoretical knowledge and practical skills related to the roles and responsibilities of presiding and polling officers. A total no of 550 Presiding and Polling Officer I received insights into the rules and regulations of the Election Commission of India (ECI) and underwent hands-on training on Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) at the designated venues.
The program’s success was greatly aided by the regular visits of DC Namchi Ms Annapurna Alley, and the proactive participation of SDM Namchi Mr Gopal K. Chettri, along with other officials in the training venues.
