General Observer, Namchi visited three polling stations
Namchi, April 15 (IPR): Mr Amar Nath Upadhyay, General Observer visited the three polling stations namely Tingrithang JHS, Omchu SS and Chumlok SS of 10 Poklok-Kamrang Assembly Constituency under Namchi District, today. The purpose of his visit was to assess the readiness of polling stations for the General Elections 2024.
The General Observer was accompanied by Mr Tenzing Bhutia, Sector Magistrate, Mr Norbu Lepcha, Leader of Flying Squad Team(FST) along with other election officials.
During the visit, the General Observer took note of the vital parameters including the basic facilities for the convenience of all voters based on the polling stations. He interacted with the voters of the areas to enquire about the prevailing situations of law and order and ensured the proper enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct. He further informed them about the rights of citizens in the democratic form of government and urged them to exercise their voting rights wisely.
It may be mentioned here that the General Observer will be visiting Nandugaon areas tomorrow i.e. April 16 to take stock of the arrangements for the election.
