Global Surveyors Day 2025 Observed at DAC, Namchi

Namchi, 21 March (IPR) : District Administrative Centre Namchi observed Global Surveyors Day, today.
This significant event aimed to celebrate the vital role of surveyors in the development and administration of the region.
The event was honoured by the presence of Ms Anupa Tamling DC Namchi, Mr Subash Ghimirey ADC (HQ), Dr CP Rai ADC (Dev) Namchi, Mr Sunil Mothey ADC (Dev) Ravangla,
Mr Nim Pintsho Bhutia SDM (HQ), Mr Saran Kalikotey SDM Namchi, Mr Pravin Gautam SDM Namthang and Mr Suraj Rai DPO Namchi.
The event was also attended by Revenue Officials from both Namchi and Namthang sub-divisions
The primary objective of the event was to recognise and commemorate the often-overlooked contributions of surveyors to society.
Surveyors play an essential role in the smooth functioning of administrative processes, and their efforts, though often behind the scenes, are crucial to the development of the state.
DC Namchi Ms Anupa Tamling, took the opportunity to highlight the significance of surveyors in maintaining smooth administration. She praised their efforts, particularly given the challenges posed by inadequate resources.
In a gesture of appreciation, she offered khadas (traditional ceremonial scarves) to all surveyors present, symbolising her gratitude for their dedicated work.
This historic event served not only to celebrate the profession but also to bring attention to the importance of the surveying community in shaping the future of Sikkim.
