Goat Distribution Program at DVP, Namchi

Namchi, 19th April: A Goat Distribution Program was conducted today at District Veterinary Polyclinic (DVP) premises at Namchi, today. A total 10 farmers from various constituencies received 1 male and 4 female goats. These farmers were from various constituencies namely from that of Namchi-Singithang, Namthang- Rateypani, Melli and Temi- Namphing. Ear tagging along with insurance for 1 year was also done for the goats. Various medicines like Dewormers, Immune Modulators, Mineral Mixtures and Multivitamins were also given to each beneficiary.
The Chief Guest for today’s programme was Chairman, Farmers’ Welfare Board, Shri Phurden Lepcha. Also present amongst others were Dr. Astuti Rai (VO, DVP), Dr. Preety Rai (VO, Chuba), Dr. Chandni Chettri (VO, Tarku), Dr. Fiona Lepcha (VO, Nandugaon) and Dr. Kunzang P. Bhutia (VO, DVP) Addl Director (South) Dr A.L. Rai welcomed all the guests and shared information about the scheme such as Backyard Sheep and Goat Development Program, Broiler Poultry Inputs cum Incentive Distribution and many more to the gathering. A brief lecture on Goat farming and its management was delivered by Dr. Nevidita Pradhan, Deputy Director ( Turuk).
