Health Mela Enters Day 4 At Namthang and Melli

Namchi, 21st April (IPR): A medical team, comprising of senior specialist doctors, laboratory technicians, nurses, supporting staff, ASHA, AWW and other stakeholders conducted a ‘block health mela’ at Namthang and Melli, today. This mela is organised by Health and Family Welfare Department as a part of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ under the guidance of Health Ministry. Present during this mela at Melli and Namthang were CMO (South)Dr. D. C. Sharma, DNO/CPHC cum DSO (South)Dr Urgen Sherpa, Namthang (MO, IC) Dr. Mingyur Lassopa, Melli (MO, IC) Dr. Mukta Mukhia along with Medical personnels and other stakeholders.
At Namthang a total of 338 people benefitted from the mela whereas in Melli a total of 304 people were treated by the professionals.
This mela is also focused on lifestyle information and screening to help build awareness of health risks and provide information on how an individual can make changes in their lifestyle to
enhance their health. The various components of this mela are awareness and health education, Basic Healthcare and other diagnostic services, screening and many other useful preventive medical management for the public to live a wholesome life.
