Hon’ble Chief Justice, The High Court of Sikkim inaugurates Additional Court Building in Namchi District Courts Complex.

Namchi, December 2 (IPR): The inauguration ceremony of the newly completed Additional Court Building was held at the District Courts Complex, Namchi District, today.
Hon’ble Mr Justice Biswanath Somadder, the Hon’ble Chief Justice, High Court of Sikkim inaugurated the court building who graced the occasion as the chief guest.
Whereas, Hon’ble Smt Justice Meenakshi Madan Rai, Hon’ble Judge, High Court of Sikkim was present as the guest of honour.
Present amongst others were, Hon’ble Mr Justice S. P. Wangdi, Former Judge, High Court of Sikkim & Chairperson Police Accountability Commission, Mrs Asha Gurung PCE/Secretary Buildings and Housing Department, alongwith the dignitaries from the High Court of Sikkim, Judges of Namchi and Gyalshing District and Sessions Courts, members of Bar Association of Sikkim, ADC (HQ), ASP Namchi, HoOs and the officials of line departments.
Upon the arrival of the Chief Guest, the Hon’ble Chief Justice was accorded with guard of honour.
It may be mentioned here that the Additional Court Building, located above the existing Alternative Dispute Resolution Building, is a four-story structure. It includes several important facilities such as the Vulnerable Witness Deposition Centre, Family Court, Special Court Room, and Conference Room.
Other amenities include rooms for advocates, public prosecutors, Malkhana, prosecution staff, Peshkar, stenographers, counselling and record areas, a psychologist’s room, waiting areas, a dining/pantry room, and toilets.
Ms. Asha Gurung presented technical reports on the building’s construction during the ceremony.
The welcome address was given by Mr. Jagat Bahadur Rai, Judge of the District and Sessions Court, Namchi, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Shri Jabyang Dorjee Sherpa, Senior Civil Judge-cum-Chief Judicial Magistrate, Namchi.
The event concluded with the singing of the national anthem.
