Inspection Conducted at Fuel Stations in Namchi

Namchi, March 3 (IPR): A team from the District Administration Centre (DAC) Namchi and Urban Development Department (UDD) Namchi conducted an inspection of fuel stations across Namchi town as per the direction of the Chief Minister. 

The inspection focused on cleanliness, fuel quality standards, fire safety measures, and compliance with labor regulations.  

The team included Mr Saran Kalikotey SDM Namchi, Mr S K Rai Deputy Director UDD Namchi, Mr Suraj Rai DPO Namchi LR&DM, Mr Sontosh Rai, Sr BI UDD Namchi, Mr Bishal Tamang, Peskar LR&DM, among others.

Four fuel stations, Surya Sales Agency, City Fuels, Kamakhya Fuel Centre and Sai Aadhya Enterprises were inspected. The team reviewed hygiene conditions in the stations and washrooms, availability of fire safety equipment, and the presence of labor cards.  

During the inspection, it was observed that complaint boxes were either missing or not maintained, toilet papers were not available in washrooms, and fire evacuation plans were not displayed.

Further, the officers advised the managers of the fuel stations to ensure proper hygiene in washrooms and maintain cleanliness in and around the premise and its surroundings.

They were instructed to maintain safe distance of minimum two meters between individuals and fuel dispensing machine while making payments via QR codes to prevent any accidental mishaps.

Also, instructions were given to prepare disaster management plan for evacuation to mitigate risks and enhance preparedness for potential emergencies and instructed to provide disaster management training to their employees to ensure they are equipped to handle emergency situations effectively.

Additionally, the managers of the fuel stations were directed to submit a compliance report along with photographs within five days to the office of the undersigned.
