Inter District Women Football Tournament kicks-off at Jorethang.

Namchi, January 13 (IPR): The first match of the Inter District Women Football Tournament, organised by Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Government of Sikkim, in association with the Mela Organising Committee, was kicked-off at football stadium, Jorethang, today.
The first match was played between Namchi district and Pakyong district. After a score of 2 to 0 goals, Namchi district advanced to the next match. Ms Signorina Thapa from the winning team was conferred with the title of Man of the Match for the game.
Mr N B Pradhan MLA and Advisor Agriculture Dept, Horticulture Dept, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services and Fisheries Development Departments was seated as the Chief Guest for the day.
Accompanying the Chief Guest were Mr Madan Cintury MLA Salghari-Zoom Constituency and the Chief Patron for Maghey Sankranti Mela, Mr Biren Chandra Rai, Advisor SBS, Mr Yougen Tamang Press Secretary to Chief Minister, Mr Pavitra Manav President NJNP, Ms Monika Rai SDM Jorethang and Officers from line departments.
The Chief Guest was also presented with souvenirs from the Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Government of Sikkim. The match also had various cultural performances displayed.
