Inter-School Painting Competition and Cleanliness Drive
Namchi, 23 September: A notable event took place in Namchi as part of the “Swachhata Hi Seva” initiative. The Inter-School Painting Competition was hosted at Damthang Secondary School, Rong Secondary School and Mamley Junior High School, organised by the respective Gram Panchayats of Damthang GPU and Mamley GPU.
Students from various federated schools participated enthusiastically in the painting competition. The themes of “Save the Environment” and “Clean Earth, Green Earth” inspired creativity and raised awareness about environmental issues among the youth.
In addition to the painting competition, a cleanliness drive was conducted in the Punzitar ward. This initiative saw the active participation of the local community, including the Zilla Panchayat, Gram Panchayat, teachers, members of Pragati Sangh Samaj, VLW office staff, self-help groups (SHGs), and students.
These initiatives reflect the community’s commitment to environmental conservation and cleanliness, fostering a sense of responsibility among the younger generation. Such efforts not only enhance local engagement but also contribute significantly to a cleaner and greener future.
