Interactive meeting chaired by Mr. Ajay Kumar Mishra, MOS (Home Affairs) at DAC Namchi

Namchi, 25th April (IPR): The Minister of State for Home Affairs, Government of India, Mr. Ajay Kumar Mishra chaired an interactive meeting with various Heads of Departments, Ex Servicemen and other local gentry at the conference hall of District Administrative Centre, today. He was accompanied by DC (Namchi) Mr. M. Bharani Kumar, SP (Namchi) Mr. Manish Verma, Adhakshya (Namchi) Ms. Anjeeta Rai and Vice Chair-person Namchi Municipal Council Ms. Sabitri Tamang alongwith staff of DAC, Namchi.
Addressing, the gathering, MoS spoke about Sikkim in brief and how the state is full of immense potential for tourism, education and overall management. In, this regards he updated that Sikkim will soon be connected with railways and underscored that an airport is already established and that connectivity to the state will be made easier in the future. He spoke about the practise of Organic Farming in particular and lauded the state as this type of farming augments the overall health and well-being of the environment, farmers and consumers alike. He highlighted the various initiatives of the Central Government and added that the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is consistently working towards effectively developing schemes which can assist the public in making their lives comfortable and convenient, on a daily basis. He also informed about the various programmes of Central Government aimed at elevating and helping the standard of the public at large such as Vibrant Village Programme, Skill Development programmes as to equip the community and of many more beneficial policies.
DC (Namchi) Mr. M. Bharani Kumar presented a PowerPoint (PPT) presentation detailing status and progress report of the various Centrally Sponsored Schemes under the different departments in the district. He gave an overview about Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana, Mushroom Spawn Production Unit in Salghari under Agriculture Technology Management Agency, Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, PM Poshan Scheme, NIPUN Bharat Programme, Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakaram, Khelo India, Pradhan Mantri Van Dhan Yojna and other pertinent projects which are currently implemented in the district.
Similarly, SP (Namchi) Mr. Manish Verma also gave a PPT presentation on the status of law and order under Namchi district. He outlined on the issues, suggestion and all-out steps undertaken by the Police Department in maintaining of smooth law and order. He also informed about the project named “Tapaiko Police” introduced by the department which is an outreach programme towards the general public and introduces them to the various aiding factor of policing. Additionally, he spoke in brief about the diverse activities undertaken by the department in the district which revolves around community policing and other awareness programmes familiarizing the public with the facets of crimes and how to safeguard oneself from it.
The MoS also had an interactive session with the attendees wherein queries about implementation of central schemes and other project were discussed in detail. The MoS alongwith other officials also visited ICDS Centre at Lower Ghurpisey and Health and Wellness Centre at Boomtar, respectively.
