International Womens’ Day 2023 at Ravangla, Namchi District

Namchi, 8th March: International Womens’ Day 2023 was organised by the Office of ADC Dev Ravangla in the Conference Hall of BAC Ravangla.
On the occasion, Sikkim Swachha Sujal Shakti Samman 2023 for Ravangla Division were also conferred to the leading Women Change makers in the society.
Mrs Tenny Doma Bhutia, Member State Women Council was present as the Chief Guest. She was accompanied by SDM Ravangla, Miss Trisang Tamang and SDPO Ravangla Mr Bikash Tiwari as the Special Guests.
Also present during the occasion were Hon’ble Zilla Panchayat, GPU Panchayat Presidents, Women Panchayats from Temi, Yangang, Ravangla and Sikkip, ADC Dev Ravangla Mr Sunil Mothay, BDO Ravangla Mr Upendra Rai, BDO Sikkip Mr Roshan Rai, CDPO Ravangla Mr Norbu Lepcha, RDD functionaries, Aganwadi staff and representatives of Women Self Help Groups.
Amongst the flurry of entertainment items, the main items were Quiz and the Felicitation to Women Change makers on Swachha Bharat Mission- Sikkim Swachha Sujal Shakti Samman 2023 and also young local women Youth Icons.
The recipients of Sikkim Swachha Sujal Shakti Samman 2023, Ravangla Division for their exemplary contribution to the society in their respective working area are:

3. Ms Sunita Rai, Hon’ble Panchayat President, Lamaten Tingmo GPU

5. Ms Meena Kharel, Swachhagrahi, Namphing GPU
6. Mrs Dawa Doma Bhutia, Gen Secy, Ravangla Baza Management Committee.
The recipient of Felicitation for Young Women local Youth Icon are:
1.Ms Phurba Tamang- Marathon runner, Yangang Block
2. Ms Neaha Rai- Mountaineer, Ravangla Block
The Chief Guest, Mrs Tenny Doma Bhutia, in her concluding address motivated the local women to dream big and work towards realizing them. She also highlighted the women centric schemes of the State Government.
The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Shri Sochen Bhutia, AD Office of ADC Dev Ravangla.
The Master of Ceremony was Miss Sarita Thatal, Hon’ble Panchayat Vice President, 51- Ravang Barfung GPU.
