Launch of ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ Campaign in Namchi

Namchi, 21 September – Mr Bhoj Raj Rai Minister for Urban Development and Food and Civil Supplies, officially launched a mass cleanliness drive today at Central Park, Namchi, as part of the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ Campaign. This initiative is driven by the slogan “Snawlo Sikkim Smriddhi Sikkim.”
Organised by the Namchi Municipal Council, the campaign aims to raise awareness and encourage public participation in sanitation efforts.
Furthermore, the campaign will encompass with series of ctivities whic will continue until 2 October, coinciding with Swachh Bharat Diwas and the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
The Minister administered the campaign pledge and highlighted the vital role of cleanliness in fostering a healthy, socially progressive society.
During the event, the Minister was accompanied by Mr Ganesh Rai Chairperson of the Namchi Municipal Council along with Councillors, Mr Rajeev Rai (MEO Namchi Incharge), Ms Margaret Rai Nodal Officer/SBM NMC, members of Self Help Groups, and citizens from various backgrounds. Their collective participation underscores the community’s commitment in improving sanitation and public health.
