Legal Service Camp under the banner of “Mega Legal Awareness Program” held at Central Park

Namchi, 12th March (IPR) : The District Legal Service Authority (DLSA) in collaboration with Sikkim State Legal Service Authority (SSLSA) conducted a Legal Service Camp under the banner of “Mega Legal Awareness Program” at Central Park, Namchi, today.
The program was organized by DLSA Namchi and TALUK Legal Service Authority, Namchi, Yangyang, and Jorethang under the aegis of National Legal Service Authority.
The program had the presence of Mrs. Samita Sharma, Ld. District and Session Judge Namchi cum Chairperson, District Legal Service Authority, Mrs. Rohini Rai, Ld. Civil Judge cum Judicial Magistrate Jorethang cum Secretary (I/C) District Legal Service Authority, Mr B.B Pradhan, Administrative Officer District and Sessions Court, Namchi, Mr. Kumar Sharma Ld Panel Advocate, Mrs. Kesang Doma Bhutia, Tele Law, Panel Advocate.
Besides Official and Staff members from different line departments were also present during the program.
The camp was attended by a total of 755 participants including Girls student. It aimed to create awareness among women about their legal rights and to help them avail different schemes. Various other departments had set up stalls to disseminate information, providing opportunity to interact with officials and obtain information about legal rights and procedures. It was an opportunity for them to interact with legal experts and get their queries addressed.
During the event, various topics related to legal services, legal aid, and schemes were discussed, and the visitors were encouraged to ask questions and seek clarification.
Overall, the legal service camp was a great initiative taken by the DLSA and SSLSA to empower women with knowledge about their legal rights. The program underscores the importance of legal services in the development and growth of a society.
It was a step in the right direction towards creating a more aware and educated society.
