Meeting on District Panchayat Performance Assessment Committee (DPPAC) held at the District Administrative Centre

Namchi, 19th November (IPR): A meeting on District Panchayat Performance Assessment Committee (DPPAC) on development of the Incentivization of panchayats and other issues was held at the District Administrative Centre, today. The meeting was chaired by DC (Namchi) cum Chairperson DPPAC Mr. M. Bharani Kumar also present amongst othere were ADC (Dev, Namchi and Ravangla) Dr. C. P. Rai and Mr. Sunil Mothey, DPO (Zilla) Ms. Karzang D Lassopa accompained by others officials.
During the meeting it was informed that as part of rural development, the performance of Panchayats will be evaluated in 9 themes ranging from Poverty free and enhanced livelihoods, Healthy Village, Child Friendly Village, Water Sufficient Village, Clean and Green Village, Self-sufficient infrastructure in Village, Socially Secured Village, Village with Good Governance and Women-Friendly Panchayat. The performance will be based on the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj.
The DC highlighted field visit of the concerned officials need to be conducted efficiently and that involvement of the the newly elected panchayats as well as the Panchayat Account Assistants needs to be sought out especially on the field visit days, which will commence from 21st November onwards. After, the completion of field visit another meeting will be conveyed to assess the reports. He added that the details of the works should be uploaded online, as per the norms. Moreover, he updated the the departments engaged in this awards needs to conduct awareness so that one and all are well versed with the importance and significance of the award at district level.
