Minister, IPR Department, Shri Lok Nath Sharma led a joint inspection at Eco Heritage Film Village, Yangang

Namchi, Jan 29 (IPR) Minister, IPR Department, Shri Lok Nath Sharma led a joint inspection at Eco Heritage Film Village, Yangang today, wherein a theatre was set on fire by unknown miscreants on 28th January, 2022.
He was accompanied by MLA Rangang Yangang constituency Smt Raj Kumari Thapa, Advisor, IPR, Shri Birendra Tamling, Chairperson, Sikkim Film Promotion Board Smt. Pooja Sharma, Secretary IPR Smt. Siporah G Targain, Director Smt. Benu Gurung, Joint Director IPR Shri Bishal Khawas, Sub Divisional Magistrate Yangang Smt. Sujata Subba, District Information Officer, South, Smt. Deepti Pradhan, SDPO Shri Sonam Y. Thakarpa, SHO Shri Sawan Gurung, AE Tourism Shri Bidhan Sharma, officials and others.
Minister Shri Lok Nath Sharma and the team minutely inspected the indoor theatre which was gutted down to ashes and enquired about the loss of the damaged properties in detail.
Thereafter, the visiting team inspected the infrastructures of Eco Heritage Film Village which were found abandoned and broken down into fragments.
Speaking to the media, Minister Shri Lok Nath Sharma strongly condemned the fire incident that has caused huge damage to the government property.
He also mentioned that the DIO/IPR had lodged FIR at Yangang police station immediately after the incident and police investigation has already started. He assured that the culprit will be arrested and strict action shall be initiated.
He added that the joint visit was carried out immediately after receiving directives from the Chief Minister to take stock of the situation.
Sikkim is a peace loving state and the present Government always encourages maintenance of sustainable peace and tranquility.
He also expressed displeasure over the abandoned properties of around more than hundred crores after the completion of work in 2016. He also elaborated detail data of the construction work and questioned on leasing out of the assets for twenty five years without completing the official formalities in 2018.
