Mock poll conducted at the First Level Checking Hall set up at the conference hall of the District Administrative Centre, Namchi
Namchi, December 7(IPR): As per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India for the upcoming election of Assembly and Parliamentary Constituencies, a mock poll was conducted at the First Level Checking Hall set up at the conference hall of the District Administrative Centre, Namchi, today.
The mock poll exercise was done in a total of 25 Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) to evaluate their functionality and ensure a transparent assessment of the machine for the elections.
The entire exercise was carried out in the presence of Mr M Bharani Kumar DC Namchi, Mr Anant Jain ADC Namchi, Mr Anuj Rai Deputy Director (LR&DM) along with other officials and staff of LR&DM, the representatives of political parties and engineers from Electronic Corporation of India Limited (ECIL), Hyderabad.
Mr Anant Jain ADC Namchi cum First Level Checking Supervisor informed that the mock poll was carried out in 1%of EVMs with 1200 votes, in 2%of EVMs with 1000 votes, and 2% of EVMs with 500 votes. In addition, he said that the electronic count was tallied with the Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) ballot slip count. The percentage was taken and calculated on the quantity of the FLC-OK Control Unit.
After the completion, the certificates of EVMs by ECIL (annexure 5), details of the sealing of CU of EVMs using pink Paper Seal(annexure 11), list of FLC-NOT OK and list of FLC-OK Ballot Unit, Control Unit, and VVPATs were provided to the representative of political parties by the District Election Officer Namchi.
Thereafter, the FLC-OK EVMs were stored in the strong room located at the annex building of DAC, Namchi.
