Mr M N Sherpa Speaker, SLA Inaugurates ‘The Creative Hub’ at Green Park, Jorethang on the occasion of Maghey Sankranti Mela 2025
Namchi, January 14 (IPR): The Creative Hub, a first of its kind and an initiative by the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Sikkim, was inuaugurated by the Speaker, SLA, Mr M N Sherpa, at Green Park, Jorethang, this evening, on the occassion of Maghey Sankranti Mela, 2025.
The Speaker was accompanied by Ms Raj Kumari Thapa, Deputy Speaker SLA, Mr Tshering Thendup Bhutia, Minister Tourism & Civil Aviations Department and Commerce & Industries Department, Mr Madan Cintury MLA and Chief Patron of Maghey Sankranti Mela, Mr L B Das MLA cum Advisor IPR Department, LR&DM Department and IT Department, Mr Yougen Tamang Press Secretary to CM, Ms Anupa Tamling DC Namchi, Ms Tirsang Tamang ADC Namchi, Ms Monika Rai SDM Jorethang and Officers from line departments.
The Speaker took a brief tour and visted various stalls and interacted with the participants present for the whole event. The Chief Minister also released the Sikkim Calendar, 2025, brought to you by IPR Department.
The Creative Hub features stalls including Kokkivo clothing x Jinozi and Oviya art workshop which is an IPR collaboration, wherein Kokkivo x Jinozi are exclusively showcasing merchandise related to the 50 Years of Statehood celebration.
During the whole Maghey Sankranti Mela celebration, The Creative Hub will host an array of activities related to art, fashion, music and cuisines, along with a designated area highlighting the history of the Maghey Sankranti Mela through a photo exhibition and documemtaries by the IPR Department.
A photobooth, also a first of its kind in the mela, is at the disposal of the general public, to capture their moments, near the stall of Blue Ink Studio. A book-corner has also been set up at the premises for book enthusiasts and the public equally, where they can come read or also purchase books of their choice.
