Mr Satish Chandra Rai Area MLA chaired a review cum coordination meeting regarding the infrastructure developmental works

Namchi, February 1(IPR): Mr Satish Chandra Rai Area MLA chaired a review cum coordination meeting regarding the infrastructure developmental works under Namchi-Singithang Constituency with the officials of line departments at the District Administrative Centre Namchi, today.
Present during the meeting were, Mr Pem Norbu Bhutia Councilor NMC, Mr Subash Ghimirey ADC(HQ) Namchi, Ms Trisang Tamang ADC Namchi, Mr Nim Pintsho Bhutia SDM(HQ) Namchi, Mr Saran Kalikotey SDM (Namchi), Mr Thupden Gyatso CEO NSCL, Mr Navin Rai Chief Town Planner NSCL, Mr Suman Shankar SE UDD , Mr Mingma T Sherpa DE R&B along with AEs, JEs and Jr Architect from the NSCL, UDD, PHE and other line departments.
During the meeting, officials from various line departments provided updates on the status of ongoing projects, developmental activities, and plans for the beautification of Namchi town.
Speaking, Mr Satish Chandra Rai directed the line departments to execute proper and quality works for the convenience of public. He said that the connecting roads to Namchi falling under the UDD department to prepare Detailed Project Report(DPR) for road widening, focusing on the expansion of Namchi in future.
He also talked about the underlying drainage system of Namchi town and instructed the concerned department to inspect the functioning and design an alternative drainage system to address potential failures. Inaddition, he advised the PHE department to prepare a DPR for waste management system projects in the Namchi area and instructed the strict removal of all illegal drinking water connections.
He further directed the removal of telephone cable lines and other dead wires in and around Namchi which may cause significant nuisance and ruin the beautification process. He then urged the officials to work together to transform the town and district into a model in terms of tourism, cleanliness, and various other factors that enhance its image.
In the meeting, Mr Navin Rai Chief Town Planner NSCL gave a PowerPoint presentation, reviewing the status of the projects under NSCL. Whereas, Mr Mingma T Sherpa DE R&B about the ongoing road conditions in and around Namchi.
