Namchi Block Education Organises Thanksgiving Programme for Volunteer Teachers (NILP)

Namchi, 27 March (IPR) : A Thanksgiving Programme to honour the Volunteer Teachers of the Neo India Literacy Programme (NILP) was organised at the Namchi BAC premises by Namchi Block Education at the premises of BAC, Namchi.
The event commenced with a warm welcome and a brief outline of the programme by Assistant Education Officer (AEO) Mr Arun Rai also the Nodal Officer for NILP in Namchi Block.
The primary objective of this programme was to acknowledge and appreciate the tireless efforts of the volunteer teachers involved in the implementation of NILP (Neo India Literacy Programme), which operates under the banner of ULLAS (Understanding of Lifelong Learning for All in Society), since 2022. The programme highlighted their invaluable contributions to enhancing literacy in the community.
As a token of appreciation, the volunteer teachers were awarded certificates of appreciation, along with a small incentive for their dedicated work.
Additionally, the Headmasters who facilitated the programme were honoured with tokens of gratitude for their cooperation and support in the successful implementation of NILP in the Namchi Block.
Mr Upendra Rai was also felicitated by for his continuous guidance and support in the implementation of NILP within the block.
During his address, the Chief Guest emphasised the importance of education beyond mere academic qualifications. He praised the volunteer teachers for their significant contributions and expressed his gratitude to all those involved, both on the ground and behind the scenes, in transferring knowledge to non-literate and dropout individuals in society.
The programme was also attended by Assistant Engineer Mr Nilesh Rai, Office Superintendent Ms Kalyani Chettri, HM Goam JHS Mr Suresh Kumar Subba, HM Cheeyadara Primary School Mr Bal Kumar Rai, HM Lower Boomtar Primary School Mr Gajendra Subba, HM Sorok Manpur Primary School Mr Passang Tshering Lepcha, APO MGNEGRA as the Guest of Honour and officers and staff members from the Namchi BAC.
The programme was conducted by Office Superintendent Ms Manju Tamang and the vote of thanks was delivered by Ms Karishma Sharma.
The event successfully acknowledged the outstanding contributions of the volunteer teachers and underscored the importance of education in transforming lives within the community.
