Namchi District conducts DLCC meeting at District Administrative Centre

Namchi, 21 February(IPR): A meeting of the District Level Consultative Committee (DLCC) with the bankers of Namchi district was convened at the conference hall of District Administrative Centre, today.
The meeting had the presence of Mr Subash Gimirey ADC Namchi, Mr Gopal Kumar Chettri SDM (HQ), Mr Gadhadar Roy Chief Manager(CM) State Bank of India, SLBC Sikkim, Mr Kallol Bhattacharya CM cum Lead District Manager, Mr Amarjeet Singh Manager Reserve Bank of India, Mr Rupan Kumar Lamichaney AGM cum District Development Officer, National Bank of Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) Namchi and other representatives from various banks under Namchi district.
During the meeting, the ADC Namchi advised the bankers to bring about transparency and provide adequate information in order to reduce confusion among the customers. He also urged to impart awareness on the central and state schemes pertaining to various subsidised loans provided by the governments, which include Kisan Credit Card (KCC )loans, Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY), Self Help Group loans, housing and personal loans, etc.
Further, he also enquired about the achievements and overall functioning of the bank to date. While addressing the discrepancies faced by the banks, he laid few suggestive measures that would enable banks to sustain in the district.
In addition, he also urged the bankers to generate sensitivity and educate the public about active fraudulent cases that is increasing rapidly in the country.
At the outset , the bankers were informed on importance of conducting Financial Literacy Centres programmes (FLCs) at every grassroots levels that creates financial awareness on various financial products including deposit, loan, insurance, and digital products, enabling general public to have better financial planning and helping them inculcate the habit of financial prudence.
The meeting also had in-depth discussions on the obstacles faced by the banks in the district.
