Namchi district conducts Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan

Namchi,March 16 (IPR): A workshop on poster making on Drug Abuse and its remedies under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, organised by District Administrative Centre was conducted at Namchi Town Hall, today.
The Programme had the presence of Mr Pulkit Assistant Collector, Mr Karma Pintso Bhutia President New Life Foundation,Ms Sedan Sonam Bhutia Assistant Education Officer, Ms Methela Rai Aspirational Block Programme along with the teachers and students from various schools under Namchi district.
Mr Pulkit Assistant Collector gave an insights on the importance of the drug free campaign under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. He informed that one of the main reason to conduct this programme with the students is to induct one master volunteer, two campus ambassadors and one nodal teacher from each schools. It will enhance students to host various competitions to encompass the leadership qualities in them. He informed that master volunteer from every school with the help of teachers are required to submit the reports to the administration. He also highlighted the effort of the Self help groups in conducting Drug Safai Abhiyan.
The Resource person Mr Karma Pintso Bhutia gave powerpoint presentation, wherein, he briefed the students on the formulation to reduce the demand of drug abuse in the country. He shared an in depth information as to how and why people take drugs, cycle of addiction, myth related to substance abuse, intervention and spectrum of supply and prevention of substance abuse.
At the outset, Nasha Mukt Bharat pledge was also administered by Ms Dimee Bhutia Welfare Inspector.
