Namchi District Conducts Second Round of Training for Counting Process

Namchi, May 21 (IPR): The second round of training for Counting Supervisors, Counting Assistants and Micro Observers was conducted at the conference hall of District Administrative Centre, Namchi today.
The training session was facilitated by Mr Tshering Norgyal Theengh, State Level Master Trainer (SLMT) SDM Yangang and Ms Bhumika Chettri, State Level Master Trainer (SLMT) cum Deputy Secretary, Election Cell Namchi.
During the training, participants were provided with a brief recap of the initial round of training. This session aimed to address any remaining queries or doubts that the trainees might have had, ensuring they were fully prepared for the counting process.
The training session covered crucial topics like unsealing of Control Units, related cases on Control Units and the procedures of VVPAT slips during counting day.
Attendees gained practical insights into tallying total votes, ensuring clarity with practical demonstration.
Additionally, detailed instructions were provided on the scrutiny of postal ballots, including the criteria for their rejection and approval, accompanied by hands-on demonstrations.
Furthermore, participants engaged in practical training on the operation of EVM machines, the counting of postal ballots, and an interactive quiz and question-and-answer session to reinforce their understanding.
The day witnessed 112 trainees on the morning and afternoon training sessions.
