Namchi district launches Sampoornata Abhiyan under Aspirational Block Programme
Namchi, 4 July(IPR): ‘Sampoornata Abhiyan’, a nationwide campaing under Aspirational Blocks Programmes was launched at Kisan Market for Namchi District, today.
The programme saw the presence of Ms Anupa Tamling DC Namchi, Mr Subash Ghimirey ADC (HQ) Namchi, Dr. Darpajit Sengupta Coordinator NITI Aayog Government of India along with GPU Panchayats, BLOs, farmers, ASHA workers, SHGs and stakeholders of ABPs.
Ms Anupa Tamling DC Namchi apprised on the importance of Aspirational Blocks Programmes. She stated that Namchi district has been selected as one of the Aspirational district/block wherein she appealed to work collectively in accomplishing the goals of ABP. She further emphasised on the roles and responsibilities of each stakeholders in progression of the district. She added that this Sampoornata Abhiyan is a three-month campaign which will conclude on 30th September and also encouraged in taking equal responsibilities.
Mr Subash Ghimirey ADC (HQ) Namchi highlighted about the six key indicators that needs to be achieved within the span of 3 months. He explained about the percentages of ANC registration within the first trimester, screening of diabetes and hypertension against the targeted population, regular consumption of supplementary nutrition under the ICDS programme by pregnant women and lactating mother, Immunisation programme for children since birth, insurance of agricultural crops, Health Cards, and SHGs Revolving Fund against total SHGs in the block.
Dr. Darpajit Sengupta enlightened about the strategies under ABP. He further said that the districts and blocks will develop a three-month action plan to saturate the six indicators and track its progress each month. He informed that the ABP was launched by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in the year 2018 to uplift the various blocks and districts of the country.
At the outset, Mr Yograj Pradhan gave an overview of the soil testing lab established at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Namthang. Similarly Dr Nation apprised about the various schemes under Government of India.
During the programme, the attendees also took the Sampoornata Abhiyan pledge which was administered by the District Collector.
To make the programme more informative a health screening cum awareness programmes was organised by the Health and Family Welfare Department, which was followed by SHGs and Paustik Aahar Mela.
Thereafter, the district officials along with the Coordinator of NITI Aayog visited ICDS and GPK at Assangthang and interacted with the beneficiaries at Damthang.
