Namchi District Zilla Panchayat Office observes World Environment Day

Namchi, June 5 (IPR): Namchi District Zilla Panchayat office organised a program to celebrate the World Environment Day, themed ‘Land Restoration, Desertification and Drought Resilience’ at its NDZP office premises, today.
The program had the presence of Ms Anjeeta Rai Zilla Adhakshya (Namchi), Mr Bikash Tamang Upa-Adhakshya (Namchi) , Zilla Panchayats along with Mr Amber Das Chettri DFO, Mr Sagar Rai Deputy Director , Mr BB Tamang and Ms Nima Chosang Sherpa Under Secretary , Divisional Engineer Mr Sanjeev Rajalim and other staffs of NDZP.
During the program, the Zilla Panchayat expressed her gratitude to the staff members for bringing saplings per person each to plant and urged them to continue with their hard work throughout the event.
Mr Sagar Rai Deputy Director, and Ms Nima Chosang Sherpa Under Secretary, discussed about the importance of reduce, reuse, recycle and recover ( the four Rs of garbage Management). They also highlighted about taking proactive steps towards the sustainable use of resources and addressed some serious issues like water scarcity, land depletion, and environmental degradation.
At the end of the event, all the staff members actively participated in planting saplings all around premises of NDZP, Namchi.
