Namchi Gears Up For The Visit of Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Government of India

Namchi, 26 April (IPR): DC Namchi chaired a meeting to plan for the forthcoming arrival of the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India (GoI), Mr Tokhan Sahu to Namchi for two days (27th and 28th),

The meeting was conducted today at the District Administrative Centre (DAC), Namchi

DC Namchi stated that the meeting aimed to brief the relevant department officials regarding the objectives of the visit, as well as to provide updates on the Minister’s arrival, departure, and itinerary for the two-day visit.

Furthermore, She additionally requested the Education Department, UDD Department, and Smart City to create a PowerPoint presentation detailing the schemes executed under the Government of India.

Moreover, she reminded all departments to be prepared for inquiries from the Minister regarding their respective presentations. She also engaged with the concerned departments to coordinate an inspection programme across Namchi District.

The itinerary includes a site visit from Namchi to Bhanjyang, a visit to one of the PM SHRI Schools, a Health Center, the ICDS (Integrated Child Development Services Scheme), SGAY (Sikkim Garib Awas Yojana), PMAY (Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana) projects, and a GPU (Gram Panchayat Unit), along with an interaction session with Gram Panchayat representatives.

The visit will also feature a tour of Siddheshwar Dham, and a display of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) will be organized during the minister’s visit.

The meeting was attended by ADC Namchi- Ms Tirsang Tamang, SDM Jorethang -Mr Pravin Gautam, BDO Namchi -Mr Upendra Rai, CEO Education- Mr Suraj Rai, J D (Education)- Mr G P Sharma, CDPO Namchi -Mr Laxman Tamang, Deputy Director UDD Jorethang – Mr B C Rai, CEO Namchi Smart city Ltd -Mr Thupden Gyatso Bhutia, Superintendent Engineer (South-West)- Mr Suman Shanker, Town Planner Namchi Smart city Ltd -Mr Navin Rai.
