Namchi observes the National Voters’ Day

Present during the occasion were, Mr Subash Ghimirey ADC Namchi, Mr Nim Pintso Bhutia SDM HQ, Deputy Secretary (Election) Mrs Bhumika Chettri, the two PwD Icons for Namchi District Mr Saran Pradhan and Mr Arjun Darjee alongwith other officials and staff of Election Department, Booth level Officers(BLO) and students and other individuals.

At the onset, the ADC Namchi administered the National Voters’ Day pledge to all the attendees, followed by the display of video message from the Chief Election Commissioner of India on the occasion.

Additionally, Electors Photo Identification Card (EPIC) issued by the Election Commission of India was also distributed to 18 young individuals from Namchi-Singhithang Constituency.

Addressing the gathering, SDM HQ Mr Nim Pintso Bhutia extended his greetings on the occasion and congratulated all new eligible voters on recieving EPIC. He emphasized the importance of the voting process in a democratic system of governance and encouraged everyone to exercise their right to vote freely and wisely.

PwD Icon Mr Saran Pradhan shared his experience to raise awareness about the importance of voting, voter-related services like Voter Helpline Mobile Application and other initiatives taken by the ECI for inclusiveness to all voters.

Whereas, PwD Icon Mr. Arjun Darjee, a visually-impaired individual, shared his personal experience regarding the conveniences provided at polling booths and informed how these facilities have become more PwD-friendly and accessible, ensuring that PwDs can exercise their democratic rights with greater ease and independence.

During the occassion, the Election Cell Of Namchi also felicitated the best performing BLOs in the district.
