Namchi, 4th June: Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) organised ‘Mission life programs’ at Namchi District. NYK volunteer Mr. Biswadeep Rana alongwith the local people of Namchi conducted various activities,including, Cleaning of natural water sources (Dhara) at Namchi Pani Dhara, Kazitar, which was carried out on 4th June ,23, where local people also participated in the cleaning process.
Similarly, Plog Run Yoga was also started in collaboration with the local youths of Namchi. The local youth collected plastic waste materials while doing plog run, from Kazitar to White Hall(Kishan Market), which was conducted by the yoga trainer Ms. Smerna Rai.
Likewise, Cleaning of district hospital and local places was also organised in collaboration with the local people from hospital.
Additionally, ‘Millet food Mela’ was organised at vegetable market, Dambudara, where various food items made from the millets were displayed.
One act play and sharing IEC materials among youths was organised in collaboration with Tendong School Namchi. In addition, Mr.Biswadeep Rana briefed the students about the importance of environment and protecting the environment by reducing the use of plastics and increasing afforestation.
