On the sixth day of filing for nomination for the bye-election of 11-Namchi-Singhithang Assembly Constituency, Mr Daniel Rai of Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) submitted his nomination today at the office of the Returning Officer cum District Election Officer.
Additionally, Ms Yojna Rai, also representing SDF, filed her nomination as a dummy candidate for the same constituency.
Till date, two regional political parties have submitted nominations so far.
The nomination filing process will continue at DAC Namchi until October 25, 2024, between the hours of 11:00 am and 3:00 pm, which marks the final day for nominations filing.
The scrutiny of nominations is set for October 28, 2024, and candidates will be allowed to withdraw their nominations until October 30, 2024.
The polling date has been scheduled for November 13, 2024.
