One Day Re-Orientation Training to ASHAs (Accredited Social Health Activists) of South District on AYUSH conducted at District Administration Centre, Namchi

Namchi, 22nd August: One Day Re-Orientation Training to ASHAs (Accredited Social Health Activists) of South District on AYUSH was conducted today on 22.8.2023 at Training Hall of District Administration Centre, Namchi by Sikkim State AYUSH Society, Health and Family Welfare Department.
The Objective of this training was to enhance their knowledge and understanding of traditional Ayurvedic practices focusing on Dinacharya, Ritucharya and with a specific focus on Post-Natal Care of Mother & Child so as to empower ASHAS in providing holistic information to the communities and referral linkages of patients by providing a informed choices to the Communities.
Training Topics:
1. Dinacharya:
– Introduction to the concept of Dinacharya (daily routine) in Ayurveda
– Ayurvedic recommendations for maintaining a healthy routine throughout the day
– Practical tips and guidelines for ASHAS to incorporate Dinacharya into their lives and advise their communities.
2.Ritucharya
– Introduction to Ritucharya aiming to help individuals maintain good health throughout the year by following specific practices based on the season.
-Basic concept on how to adapt our lifestyle, diet, and daily routine to prevent diseases and imbalances during different seasons
3. Post-Natal Care of Mother and Child according to Ayurveda:
– Importance of post-natal care for both mother and child
– Ayurvedic practices to ensure their well-being, including diet and massage of Mother and babies.
4. About the usage of Y-break app and Namasate app.(available in Google Play Store).
The training had the presence of CMO, South District, Health and Family Welfare Department and resource person for training were AD cum SPO, National AYUSH Mission and Medical Officer, Ayurveda from AYUSH Hospital,Kyongsa,Gayzing.
Furthermore, during the training, ASHAS were informed about the various AYUSH Co-location facilities of AYUSH at PHCs,CHCs and at Districts Hospitals and about AYUSH Health and Wellness Centres in their area .They were educated on the referral linkages available for patients, enabling them to make informed choices.
