Namchi, November 26 (IPR): Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Namchi observed the 75th Constitution Day at PM Shri Assangthang Secondary School today.
The programme was graced by Ms Renuka Baraily Panchayat President Assangthang GPU, Mr Bhim Narayan Rai Vice President, Panchayat Members Mr Prem Maya Tamang, Ms Lacho Maya Rai, Mr Hari Maya Manger, and Mr Rohan Subba,Mr Mani Kumar Rai AD RDD, Mr Prakash Chettri, Headmaster Sonam Wangchuk Bhutia RDA, Ms Priyanka Tamang Guests Speaker & Educator, Mr Nikheal Chettri State Spokesperson of Yes Foundation Sikkim and President of Assangthang Friendly Association and Mr Suman Baraily Social Worker.
The programme commenced with the Pledge of the Preamble, which was followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Ms Renuka Baraily Panchayat President and the esteemed guests.
Ms Priyanka Tamang Guests Speaker & Educator briefed on the significance of Constitution Day and highlighted its importance in shaping India’s democracy.
Further, Mr Bhim Narayan Rai Vice President addressed the gathering, emphasising the need to uphold constitutional values.
Mr Sonam Wangchuk Bhutia Headmaster also delivered a speech , wherein he shared the relevance of the Constitution in daily life.
A Padyatra was also organised which began from the school via Sai Mandir and back to the school premises.
Various competitions were held to engage the participants, including a placard competition and the top three winners received certificates and prizes. Similarly, a quiz competition focused on the Indian Constitution further enriched the event’s significance.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Suman Baraily. He acknowledged the efforts of all participants and organisers. The celebration successfully instilled awareness of the Constitution’s values and promoted unity and democracy among attendees.
