Field Day on Finger Millet Held in Yangang to Promote Best Practices for Seed Production Technology and Seed Certification
Namchi, December 24: A Field Day on Finger Millet was organized at Upper Sripatam, Sripatam Gagyong GPU, Yangang, with the aim of raising awareness and disseminating knowledge about seed production technology and seed certification.
The event was organized by Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA), Namchi District.
The programme was attended by Deputy Director Agriculture, Agriculture Inspector, Assistant Technology Manager, field officials, and farmers.
The field day served as a platform for knowledge exchange, where farmers had the opportunity to interact with agricultural experts, learn about innovative farming techniques, and discuss the latest developments in crop management.
Ms. Vaishnu Rai, DDA, spoke about various components under seed production technology. She emphasized on seed certification and its significance in ensuring genetic purity and high-quality seeds.
The field day ended with the crop cutting experiment of Finger Millet followed by the harvesting of the crop, where both field officials and farmers participated.
