Namchi, 10 September: A coordination meeting with the Block Development Society of SHGs from Temi Block was held today the Hon’ble chairpersons Smt. Khus Maya Tamang (Water & Sanitation), Smt. Kala Pradhan (Food Processing), and Smt. Doma Lepcha (Animal Husbandry & Horticulture) from Namchi District, representatives of the various SHGs working across the state of Sikkim.
Temi Block is the first in the district to organize such a meeting, aimed at empowering women SHG members by informing them about various government schemes, subsidies, and benefits.
All three chairpersons encouraged the SHG members and federations to continue their efforts and assured them of necessary support. Smt. Khus Maya Tamang also appreciated the Namphing GPU for providing a dedicated working cabin to SHG women—an exemplary step toward grassroots empowerment.
