Namchi, 12 May : Buddha Purnima, the holy day marking the birth of Lord Buddha, was celebrated with great devotion at Changchu Nyingmapa Gumpa (also known as Gurung Gumpa) in Yangang.

The event was attended by Honourable Deputy Speaker Smt. Raj Kumari Thapa, Political Secretary to HCM, Shri Bikash Basnet, local Panchayat members and many devotees. Special prayers were performed by His Eminence Khandu Maa and respected Lama Gurus to mark the sacred occasion.

Ancient holy scriptures were taken out for a Parikrama (holy walk), and devotees took part in this spiritual journey and received blessings. Khandu Maa also offered wang (spiritual blessings) to all present.

Buddha Purnima is one of the most important days for Buddhists as it celebrates the birth, enlightenment, and passing away of Lord Buddha. Every year, Changchu Gumpa holds this special event to pray for peace, harmony, and prosperity in the community. The celebration brought people together in faith, peace and hope.
