Yangang, 17th September 2025: The house warming ceremony of Shri Sathu Rai (Allotment No. 06 Namchi/ADC/Rav/Y/33) under the Sikkim Garib Awas Yojana (SGAY) was held today at Yangang. The programme was graced by Smt. Raj Kumari Thapa, Hon’ble Deputy Speaker of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly cum Area MLA of 15–Rangang Yangang Constituency, as the Chief Guest.
On this occasion, the next beneficiary, Shri Ambar Bdr. Gurung (U/Yangang), was handed over the SGAY house key by the Hon’ble Deputy Speaker.
The ceremony witnessed the presence of several dignitaries including Shri C.L. Gurung (Advisor, Food Processing Industries), Shri S.B. Rai (OSD, Agriculture Department), Smt. Denkila Bhutia (OSD to Hon’ble Deputy Speaker), Shri Tengayla Namka (CLC President), Smt. Needay Bhutia (BDO, Yangang), Shri B.B. Bhandari (AD PRI), SHO Yangang, Hon’ble Zilla Panchayats, Panchayat Presidents, Panchayat members of Yangang Rangang GPU, CLC-level SKM executives, members of SKM frontal wings, and karya kartas of the SKM Party.
The Sikkim Garib Awas Yojana (SGAY) is a flagship housing initiative of the Government of Sikkim that aims to provide pucca houses with essential facilities to economically weaker families. Each SGAY house is equipped with a living room, kitchen, toilet, and water supply, ensuring dignified and safe living conditions.
The scheme seeks to uplift rural households, improve their quality of life, and fulfill the vision of Housing for All.
