Namchi, April 2 : DC Namchi Ms Anupa Tamling, chaired a meeting with the Board of Directors of the Football Development Private Ltd (FDPL) at the District Administrative Centre, Namchi, today.

The meeting primarily focused on the preparedness of Bhaichung Stadium, which will serve as the venue for the upcoming Sikkim Premier League (SPL) Season 3.

During the session, FDPL officials urged various line departments to extend their support in ensuring the smooth conduct of the football matches at the stadium.

DC Namchi emphasised the need for coordinated efforts and directed key departments including PHED, Police, Power, Fire, Health, Forest, NMC, PWD, Sports, and Smart City to actively engage during the event.

To assess readiness, DC instructed that a trial run be conducted on April 7 and 8, 2025.

Additionally, the grand opening ceremony for SPL Season 3 is scheduled for April 9, 2025.

The meeting was attended by SDM (HQ) Namchi, Mr Nim Pintso Bhutia, CMO Namchi, Dr S N Adhikari, Joint Director S&YA Dept Ms Tshering Ongmu Bhutia, Officers from line department and Members of FDPL.

It maybe mentioned here that the inaugural ceremony will be held on 9th April and simultaneously the 18 matches will be held at Bhaichung stadium respectively.
