Press Release from the office of One Stop Centre, Jorethang

Namchi, 11th March: One Stop Centre, Women and Child Development Department, Jorethang observed International Women’s Day week from 8.03.2023 till 11.03.2023.
On 11.3.2023 the beneficiaries of the one Stop Centre were invited to celebrate International Women’s Day.
Resource Person Mrs Neelam Subba, Clinical Psychologist and Member of Child Welfare Committee, Namchi District highlighted on the subject of Psycho Social counselling and various ways to cope up with the distressful situations faced by women in various walks of their life. She further conducted a therapy session where different activities were conducted which can also be practiced at their respective household for their peace of mind and wellbeing.
Resource Person Ms. Lata Bardewa, Sub Inspector, Jorethang Police Station, made the beneficiaries aware of the basic rights of women, the difference between General Diary and First Information Report, she further enlightened the dangers of trafficking among women and how they have lured by traffickers simply to be sold outside the state. She further gave assurance to the beneficiaries that Women Help Desk is available at all Police Station for women that have faced violence.
Lastly Ms Sangita Gurung, Centre Administrator, One Stop Centre,Jorethang made the beneficiaries aware of the provisions of Prevention of Sexual Harassment at Workplace 2013 and further counselled the beneficiaries on how they need to co-operate with the Centre to successfully get the reliefs and benefits provided by One Stop Centre.
The program ended with a vote of thanks by Ms. Aeromeena Lepcha, Paralegal Worker, One Stop Centre, Jorethang.
