Review Meeting on ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’

Namchi, 5th August (IPR): A review meeting on ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ (MMMD) was held at conference hall of DAC, today. DC (Namchi) Mr. M. Bharani Kumar chaired the meeting accompained by ADC (Dev) Dr. C.P. Rai along with officials from line departments.
Addressing the gathering, DC (Namchi) informed that MMMD campaign is a flagship programme under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, which is to honour our martyred braveheart men and women.The campaign will commence in the district from 9th -15th August. He encouraged active participation of all in this campaign.
Under this initiative the main focus is on five different components namely dedication of Silaphalakam, Panch Pran Pledge and Selfie, Vasudha Vandana, Veeron Ka Vandana, Flag Hoisting and Rashtragaan. According to these components, the DC directed the Block Development Officers, Namchi Municipal Council, Naya-Bazar Jorethang Nagar Panchayat, Police Department, Education Department, IPR Department and others to follow the guidelines so as to effectively implement these components for the success of the MMMD campaign.
Regarding, silaphalakam or erection of inscription, the DC urged the involved officials to include the names of the brave freedom fighters and soldiers who laid down their life for the country. Their names will remain in the inscription which shall be erected at the various GPKs in and around Namchi district. A MMMD photo booth, will be put up at DAC, Namchi complex. For the panchpran pledge, one will have to hold a clay lamp or mitti (soil) in their hand and upload it to www. merimaatimeradesh.gov.in and also share in dmnamchi social media profiles with the hashtag #mmmdnamchi.
For vasudha vandan, Forest Department was directed to distribute free saplings of various species of trees for plantation.
Similarly, he also instructed the officials to felicitate freedom fighters, serving and retired
defence personnel from Army, Navy, Air Force, Central Armed Police Force and State Police Force personnel who are either serving or have died in the line of duty under veeron ka vandan. Under Flag Hoisting and Rashtragaan, each gram level of the district will hoist the national flag followed by singing of the national anthem.
During the course of the meeting DC also discussed about Har Ghar Trianga and urged one and all to hoist the Tri-colour flag from 13th -15th August. Selfie with the flag can be uploaded on www.harghartiranga.com.
