Route march taken out in Namchi District to maintain law and order and ensure peace
Namchi, April 7 (IPR): Security forces took out special route march on Saturday to infuse confidence and a sense of safety among public and served as a visible presence of law enforcement, ahead of the Assembly and Parliamentary elections scheduled on April 19.
Dr. Tshering Namgyal Gyatso, Sr. Superintendent of Police ( Namchi ) led the forces in the march that began from Salghari, Assangthang and Faresay areas.
Sub-Divisional Police Officer Jorethang, Mr Sher Mingure Tempo Nadik, Police Inspector, Mr Bishan Rai, Central Armed Police Force (CAPF), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and Sikkim Police took part in the exercise, Village patrolling was also done.
Sr SP, Namchi informed that Route March is carried out regularly throughout the district,lead by concerned SHOs and SDPOs with the aim to maintain law and order and ensure peace during the election. He further stated that Route March in the villages is also going on daily bases by security forces.
