Scrutiny for Panchayat By-Elections, 2023

Namchi, 28th March (IPR): The scrutiny of nomination papers of candidates who had filed their nomination for the Panchayat By-Elections, 2023 was carried out in the office of Panchayat Returning Officer, today. The scrutiny process also had the presence of Secretary, Sikkim State Electricity Regulatory Commission, Ms. Karma Doma Youtso, the Panchayat By- Election Observer for Namchi District.
During the scrutiny of the 03 Gram Panchayat Wards, the nomination papers of all the 08 candidates were accepted and nil nomination papers were rejected. It maybe mentioned under Namchi District 2 Lower Gangyong Panchayat Ward, 1 Upper Phalidara Panchayat Ward and 8 Upper Tshalamthang Panchayat Ward are scheduled to go for By-Elections.
It may also be noted that the last date of withdrawal of candidatures is on 31st March till 3 p.m. following which symbols shall be allotted to the contesting candidates.
