SDM Headquarters chairs Third Preparatory Meeting For Cleaner Sikkim Initiative.

Namchi, May 15( IPR): SDM Headquarters Mr Nim Pintso Bhutia presided over the third prepatory meeting for a cleaner Sikkim initiative to commemorate 50 years of Statehood, at the District Administrative Centre (DAC), today.
The SDM Headquarters provided a briefing to the six departments regarding the cleanliness initiative scheduled for May 24, which will take place from the Melli checkpost to Jorethang highway between 8:30 and 9:30 AM.
Additionally, he notified the departments regarding the mock trial scheduled for May 20 concerning the cleanliness drive and asked the nodal officers to be present for the trial and also mentioned that a total of 37 departments would be accountable for covering one mile each during the cleanliness initiatives.
It is important to note that this initiative is a collaborative effort involving the District Administration, Youth for Society, Local Gram Panchayats, Elected Officials, and the General Public, with mandatory participation from all government departments.
As part of the drive, officials also emphasised the importance of reducing plastic use to foster a cleaner and healthier environment.
The initiative aims to promote environmental awareness and community responsibility.
Also present during the meeting were ARTO Mr Sanjeev Das Rai, DISME Mr Hari Prasad Sharma, F&CSD Mr Tenzing Bhutia, Fisheries Mr Rochak Subba, Excise SI Mr Bhim Prasad Dahal, PHED Mr Mohan Dahal.
