Second match of the 10th Chief Minister’s Gold Cup Tournament kicks-off at Jorethang

Namchi, Jan 10 (IPR): The second match of the 10th Chief Minister’s Gold Cup Tournament kicked-off at football stadium, Jorethang, today.
Mr Bhoj Raj Rai, Minister Urban Development Department and Food & Civil Supplies Department, graced the event as the Chief Guest.
Accompanying the Chief Guest were Mr B S Panth, MLA and Advisor Excise Department and Lotteries, Mr Yougan Tamang, Press Secretary to the Chief Minister, Mr Pavitra Manav, President NJNP, Mrs Manjari Rai, Vice President NJNP, Panchayats NJNP, Ms Monika Rai, SDM Jorerthang, Mr Dilip Dong, MEO NJNP, Officers from line departments and Mr Sanju Pradhan, Former Indian Footballer.
The second match for the 10th Chief Minister’s Gold Cup Tournament was played between Sikkim Police FT and Eastern Railway SC Kolkata, where with the score of 5 to 1, Sikkim Police FT emerged victorious and advanced to the next game.
Mr Sanjay Rai, from the winning team of Sikkim Police FT was presented with the title of Man of the Match for the day.
The Chief Guest was also presented with souvenirs by the Namchi District Football Association. The match also witnessed an array of cultural performances during the course of the match.
It is to be mentioned that Chief Minister’s Gold Cup Tournament is played in adherence to the guidelines laid down by All India Football Federation, as the tournament is now a part of AIFF league matches.
Accordingly, the tournament is hoisted by Namchi District Football Association in association with Sports & Youth Affairs Department, Sikkim Football Association and Maghey Sankranti Mela organising committee.
