“Swachhata Hi Seva” Programme Concludes in Namchi District
Namchi, 2 October (IPR) : On the auspicious occasion of the 155th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the15-day “Swachhata Hi Seva” Programme culminated with a Special Gram Sabha and the celebration of Swachhata Diwas across all 11 Gram Panchayat Units (GPUs) under Namchi Block Administrative Centre (BAC).
The GPUs involved were Mickhola Singithang, Boomtar Salleybong, Maniram Phalidara, Rongbul, Damthang, Tingrithang, Mamley, Kamrang, Assangthang, Sorok Shyampani, and Kitam Manpur.
During the celebrations, the Swachhata Pledge was administered by the Panchayat Presidents at designated areas that had previously been identified as blackspots but have now been transformed into public gardens.
In addition, the occasion marked the launch of Single Sign-On service by Ms Anupama Tamling DC Namchi.
This new service provides online certification for Scheduled Castes (SC), Other Backward Classes (OBC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Employment Cards, and Income Certificates from the Block Administrative Centre in Namchi.
The launch took place at the District Administrative Centre (DAC) in the presence of Heads of Offices and the Block Development Officer (BDO) of Namchi. She also distributed certificates to applicants during the event.
Further, the public will be able to apply for these certificates through the Single Sign-On (SSO) portal or directly from their respective Gram Panchayat Kendra (GPK) under Namchi BAC.
This initiative not only enhances the accessibility of essential services but also reinforces the commitment to cleanliness and community engagement in line with the principles espoused by Mahatma Gandhi.
It maybe mentioned here that the Dignity Card was distributed to all Safai Mitras during the ocassion.
