Technical Education Awareness In Government Schools Conducted By CCCT, Chisopani, Namchi District, Sikkim

Namchi, 13 March : With the permission of Directorate of Technical Education, Education Department, Government of Sikkim, Centre for Computers and Communication Technology (CCCT), Chisopani, Namchi, Sikkim deputed its faculty and staff members across various government schools spanning all districts in Sikkim on 11/03/2024. This initiative epitomizes the institute’s steadfast commitment to fostering awareness among students regarding technical education and the array of engineering-related initiatives extended by both Central and State government. With a collective effort of 56 staff members allocated to 26 distinct schools, the CCCT team engaged with students enrolled in the tenth grade, conducting concise yet impactful sessions. These sessions aimed at enlightening students about technical education while shedding light on pivotal institutions such as Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Education Department, Government of Sikkim; State Board of Technical Education (SBTE), Education Department, Government of Sikkim; All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Government of India and polytechnic institutes. To name few locations of schools that were covered are Mangan, Dikling, Rhenock, Central Pendam, Rabongla, Namchi, Tashiding, Pelling, Kaluk and Sombaria.
The overarching goal of the visit was to sensitize students about the significance and myriad opportunities available in technical education, with an overarching aim to broaden their career perspectives and stimulate interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) disciplines.
The visit proved highly successful in achieving its objectives, as evidenced by the students’ palpable enthusiasm and keen interest throughout the sessions. Many students expressed newfound appreciation for technical education and indicated a desire to delve deeper into the field. Several even sought additional resources and guidance to further pursue technical education in the future. Feedback from various stakeholders, including school administration notably the Principal, teachers, and students, resoundingly echoed positivity and appreciation for the visit. Schools conveyed gratitude for the initiative, highlighting its pivotal role in influencing students’ career trajectories. Teachers commended the informative content and interactive approach, noting its efficacy in maintaining student engagement.
The Institute specially Admission Cell extends heartfelt appreciation to all school heads for their collaborative efforts in organizing this event, as well as to the faculty and students of CCCT for their unwavering dedication, which collectively contributed to the resounding success of this endeavour.
