Tender bidding event for temporary collection of loose boulders, sand and stone conducted at the District Forest Office in Namchi
Namchi, Sept 19 (IPR): Namchi Territorial Division, Forest & Environment Department conducted a tender bidding event for temporary collection of loose boulders, sand and stone at the District Forest Office in Namchi, today.
The event was held in the presence of Mr. Subash Ghimirey ADC(HQ), Ms Peggyla Venchugpa DFO(T) Namchi, Ms Angel Omngu Chettri, DFO (Wildlife) Namchi, Mr. Pravin Rai ACF (Land Use) Namchi , Mr. Mohan Rai AO (Sr. Accounts) along with officials and staff from the Forest Department and Police Department along with tenderers of Namchi District.
The process of bidding was done as per the terms and conditions of Notice Inviting Tender (NIT) wherein proper inspection of the valid documents checked by the Committee in front of all tenderers. The tender of the various approved sites falling under 5 Ranges of Namchi District were namely Namchi, Namthang, Melli, Ravangla and Lingmoo. A total of Fifty-seven collecting sites of Namchi District were officially announced for tenderers to bid. Under Namchi Range, out of ten collecting sites, 8 sites were bid whereas 2 sites were not tendered by any parties. In Namthang Range, 16 collections areas were identified, where 9 areas were successfully tendered, and 7 areas were cancelled due to no bid by any individual.
Melli Range had 13 collecting sites where 11 bidders participated in the process. 2 collecting sites saw no involvement of tenderers.
In Ravangla Range, out of 5 collecting sites only one site was bid by the participants. Out of 13 collecting sites of Lingmoo Range, only 5 areas were bid by the tenderers.
A total of 57 sites were involved, out of which 23 sites were unbidden, following 20 were approved for quarry operations, while 3 were rejected and 11 were no bids thorough evaluation by the committee.
It may be mentioned here that, bidding of various locations was not approved by the committee due to insufficient of paperwork. The winning bidders were asked to process all the necessary procedure for availing the license in the coming week.
