Namchi, 8th May (IPR): The Governor Shri. Lakshman Prasad Acharya on his second day tour to Namchi District chaired a meeting with various Heads of Department at the conference hall of District Administration Centre, Namchi today. He was accompanied by Secretary (Raj Bhawan) Shri. Jigme Dorji Bhutia, DC (Namchi) Shri. M. Bharani Kumar, SP (Namchi) Shri. Manish Verma, ADC (Namchi) Shri. Anant Jain, SDM (HQ) Shri. Chiran Rizal, SDM (Namchi) Shri. Mahendra Chettri alongside Officials and other beneficiaries.
Addressing, the gathering, the governor expressed his deep appreciation for the warmth shown towards his maiden visit at Namchi district from Officials and stakeholders, alike. He spoke about his visits at Temi Tea Garden, statue of Guru Padmasambhava (Samdruptse) and Siddhesvara Dham and marvelled at the unique beauty of these places.
Speaking, about the meeting he said that the aim is to understand the workings of the different departments and of the schemes and projects implemented till date. He added that the Central Government and the State Government have introduced a number of schemes with the intention of providing improved convenience to the public and urged the official’s and other staff of the respective departments to execute these programmes in an efficient and earnest manner in order for the masses to reap maximum benefits. The Governor also informed that periodical progress of various schemes and missions should be conducted, the people should be aware of the schemes advantages and if needed publicity should also be made. Moreover, he updated initiative such as Mero Rukh Mero Santati and Tapaiko Police introduced by the Police Department are commendable and underscored that Raj Bhawan is also equalling up to the task of aiding the public and appraised about adopting T.B. patients and other measures purposed at reaching out to the masses.
DC (Namchi) Shri. M. Bharani presented a brief overview topography about the district. He appraised about the various departments and other factors surrounding the district. Similarly, SP (Namchi) Shri. Manish Verma also spoke in details about police department, status of law and order and other aspects such as community policing, awareness drives and interactive programmes.
During the course of the meeting the various Heads of Departments also briefly spoke about the schemes and project being implemented under them. They ranged from MGNREGA, Mission Amrit Sarovar, Swachh Bharat, JSSK, Ayushman Bharat, Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme to Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana and the recently launched Mahila Samman Saving Certificate, 2023. During the course of the meeting the beneficiaries of various developmental schemes also presented their feedback.
